Round 2

So, I know I haven't been on here, in, well, FOREVER...I have :( no posts of Mallory's birth, her first year, her first bday, her second bday....ugh. I'm so bad... She is my little mini-me and I love her so much. I just got behind in the blog and never caught up! But, I've been wanting to document Round 2 of IVF, so I decided to start writing again, in case anyone wants to follow along :) I have my CD2 Bloodwork tomorrow morning, March 1st. Praying all my testing comes back fine, I'm only worried about my FSH (although I have no reason to be)....if that one single test is below 10, I will be one happy momma! And then we'll schedule the long appt. Thanks for whoever reads this :)

GD

That stands for "Gestational Diabetes" - Hi, I'm Leah and I'm a GD test failer. Twice. I failed the one hour and failed the 3 hour (this was right around Thanksgiving).

So I went to a dietician and a diabetic counselor. I have to check my blood sugar 4 times a day. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. I actually lost 3 lbs in the first 5 days of the diet - so I upped the carbs I was eating (ex. for lunch I can have 30-60 carbs, I was eating around 35 - but now I'm up to around 50-60 so I don't lose weight).

It's going well and the dietician and my Dr. are happy with where I'm at. But, I will be induced at 39 weeks, as GD babies can get too chubby :) and are harder to deliver.

Everyone loves a pee in a cup story!

And so you shall have one!

SOOOO - I went to my first weekly appt today!! And the first thing they always have me do is give a urine sample. I didn't really have to pee - so I was really concentrating so I wouldn't miss the pee container!

(WARNING - TMI)

And OMG I was peeing everywhere and hardly any into the container and I was kinda confused because usually I can hit it just fine. But I got pee on the label of the cup and everywhere! LOL So embarrasing!

So anyway, I go to wipe myself and there is like FABRIC down there, WET FABRIC! And it dawns on me that the belt of my shirt had fallen through my legs and I'm thinking - What am I going to do? - it's all wet! (I tied the shirt in the front - cause the knot on your back is irritating in a chair all day)

But I checked my shirt and no - it's not my belt! It's fine...I'm SOO confused and then I realize....I freaking didn't pull down my PANTIES! I peed on my underwear LMAO!

OMG - No wonder I had such a hard time hitting the cup! So, I had to like take off my shoes and jeans to get my soaking undies off! And NORMALLY they have me go to the restroom right away - so I have my coat and purse - I was going to just take another little pee container and put my undies in it and put that into my purse. But I had NOTHING with me - and you would see that huge container in my pocket! - So I wrapped them in paper towels and had to put them in my pocket! WHY I didn't just throw them away, I have no idea!

Well, with the maternity pants, I normally just pull everything down at once, and I guess I didn't catch my undies just right! - in my defense, I was wearing a thong LOL, so it's not like it's that THICK (wide) down there, which is luckily why I still got some pee in the cup! And it's not like I can see down there anymore LOL.. hehee... so I went to Walmart at lunch to buy underwear haha.

I'm sure the nurse was like - What the heck is taking her so long in there!!!

Just thought I'd share and hopefully make you smile today :) HEHE

ER Visit - All is fine :)

So, my sister sent me this article about U/Ss

Blog: The Healthy Home Economist
Post: Prenatal Ultrasounds: A Risky Proposition
Link: http://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/2010/09/prenatal-ultrasounds-risky-proposition.html

Okay - told Mike about this and he thought it was Hooey - However (and I'll preface this by saying that both me and baby are JUST FINE) but I had to go to the ER last night (I can just hear my sister saying, Leah, this would ONLY happen to YOU! :)) because I knew I was having another kidney stone attack :( - but normally I would have held out a bit longer - until I was in more pain and had time to chug some more water, but since I'm pregnant, I didn't want to take any chances, so we went to the ER at 6:30.

They checked me in and then took me to labor and deliver to make sure she was fine and that I wasn't having contractions and was in labor (which I knew I wasn't, because it wasn't tightening - it was just constant pain on my left). I checked out fine and they freaked me out with having a hard time finding her heartbeat, but then did and it was a strong 160bpm. That was a relief. Then they put the contraction monitor belt on and baby girl - she did not like that at ALL - seriously, she kicked the monitor at LEAST 15 times - right where it was. So, I have to say, there has to be SOME truth or some recognition on her part that it was there and she did NOT like it! :(

Good news is that and hour and a half after I got there - they got me some pain meds - MORPHINE! but I was unsure if I wanted it, so the Dr. gave me a half dose. It's safe for both of us. I felt so much better after that and I had a bag of IV and then they sent me home. They did find blood in my urine, so they also thought it was probably a stone, but they can't do any other testing, because all of them are bad for the baby.

But the best news? I found the stone this am! I passed it around 6am - I actually thought it was like a bug or something cause it was so huge! I'm just so glad - cause I never caught my other ones and now I can have it analyzed so I know what is causing them! I'm taking it in today - but it looks exactly like this:

BUT MINE WAS NOT that big - just looks like a small version of that.

20 Week U/S

OMG I know I need to update this more!! I just get so busy at night around the house :)

Our 20 Wk U/S went SO well. We got to see the bones in the legs, arms, little fingers, areas on the skull that looked great and that everything was good with the spine. The 4 chambers of the heart, all pumping perfectly, the kidneys, even her little ears!

Yes, you read that correctly, HER little ears! It's a G I R L!!!! I know we weren't going to find out - but that morning we just couldn't help ourselves knowing we COULD find out who has been kicking me! And I'm SOOO GLAD WE DID!! Now, here is what you are waiting for: PICS :)

19 weeks!!

OMG I'm 19 weeks today! Almost half way there! I feel the baby move a lot lately and I'm loving it. I still do NOT believe it's real!!

I know I haven't updated in a while. We are busy trying to switch the office into the baby's room and the "people that used to live in our house's baby room" into our office. Our desk and most of the office has lived in our dining room for the past 3 weeks while we painted, put up chair rail, new baseboards, new ceiling fan and light - it all looks AWESOME. And the monkey graphics are stellar. Mike loves them to bits! I got the bedding all on the crib and it's so adorable. But, why do they sell crib sets when a) you can't use the blanket IN the crib and 2) now they say you shouldn't use bumpers in the crib either. WHAT is the point of a crib set! I should have gotten the sheets and the separate cribskirt (which I did) and left it at that! The curtains tie it in all together nicely! I'll take a pic soon and post it as well :)

I finally feel/look a little preggers. I'm feeling really good and just so ready to get everything situated. We have so been blessed with things from my sister and cousin, we're just sorting through things and trying to figure out where everything is going to go!

Here is a new belly shot from last week!
