YAYYYYYYYY!

I had some blood drawn last Wednesday at my appt - called the AFP test or Quad Screening - http://pregnancy.about.com/cs/afp/a/afptesting.htm - They are KNOWN for giving false positives, which is super scary - if you get an abnormal test result you can opt to have further testing, such as an amniocentesis to rule out any issues with the baby. Very stressful for everyone!

Well, I got a sweet little card in the mail last night letting me know that my results were N O R M A L!!! This is wonderful news and a nice big sigh of relief. That means that our baby is doing great and the % chance of Downs Syndrome, open neural tube defects, trisomy 13, 18 and 21, and stillbirth are next to nothing.

Last night was a good night. :)

I also got a huge box of maternity clothes I won off a bid on Ebay, lots of SUPER cute things - many great quality, great condition - Gap Maternity, Old Navy - and I was pleasantly surprised that the girl from CA that sent them to me had but one tank top - many long sleeve things, which is perfect! I even got a pair of LONG JOHNs! (Sarah claims they are leggings, but I'm going with Long John's hehehe!) With a few cute sparkly tops perfect for Xmas and NYE to boot!

The B I G Ultrasound is on 9/22! While we have decided not to find out the sex of the baby - I'm super excited to see him/her moving all around and the progress in growth s/he has made since the last time we saw him/her!!

Also, we've made progress on the baby's room! We painted the room light yellow on top, darker yellow on bottom and are installing a chair rail.

I bought this bedding: (glad I did, cause now the curtains are on backorder!)

and for the walls, we got this for over the crib (Mike picked monkeys as a theme):

and for next to the changing table we got this:

Mike and I got to pick the colors of the graphics - so they match the bedding browns/green.

I can't wait to get the stencils!!! And I can't wait till everything is done and I can get some pictures to post!!

Heartburn and Appt Update

WOW, I had a busy weekend, but it was fun, out with friends on Friday night, Sat spent with my sister and her boys, we went to "Eat, Pray, Love" it was really good, Kari is going to lend me the book.

I got home and had leftovers from Friday night, then I took a lil nap while watching tv. I woke up and had HORRIBLE heartburn, which just got worse and worse.

It was like heartburn x15. It hurt so bad, I could barely talk, I couldn't get comfortable and I had a fever, chills, thought I was going to throw up, kept burping and thought I just had super bad heartburn. I was weak and super shaky. I took some tums and milk and it got WAY worse.

I seriously thought I was having a heart attack or dying. I've had kidney stones twice and my appendix out - so I know what pain is. This was NOT heartburn and it didn't go away after the tums like it has been. It was a stabbing pain in my chest that was just continuous and horrific. I made Mike drive me to the ER at 10:30pm.

But then I got there and slightly started feeling better. I sat in the car in the ER parking lot for 20 mins, I could finally breathe a bit and relax and it got better. I didn't want to go into the ER for silly heartburn!

I talked to my mom and Sarah the next morning and they both have had their gallbladder out and they both totally think I had a gallbladder attack. They both said it sounds exactly like it.

I had eaten for dinner some leftovers that were SUPER rich. And rich foods are what set off the attacks, so I have to just watch what I eat. I don't ever want to go through that again.

It was WORSE than my kidney stones IMO, because at least with them I could try to relax and concentrate on my breathing, but this is in your chest and felt like I was being CRUSHED to death!

So, I had my appt today - it went well :) Baby's HB was 158 - Dr. Sara said the baby is in "girl range" if you believe that old wives tale :)

She seriously thinks I just had heartburn, not gallbladder issues. I just am SHOCKED that heartburn could be that bad. She said do NOT take milk for heartburn, which I did and I immediately got SO much worse. She said next time go to the ER and they will give me a GI Cocktail to help calm it down.

I still am not totally convinced that it isn't my gallbladder. I just can't believe I thought I was going to die, had fever, sweats, chills and it was silly heartburn!

I had blood drawn today and I didn't even ask for what = and then I realized I'm sure it was my quad screening (aren't I oblivious??) So, I hope I hear nothing - no news is good news, right?

SO, I have my next appt in 5 wks (Dr.s on vacay in 4 weeks booo - so had to push it out) so Sept 22nd at 1pm I have my BIG ultrasound. Seems SOOOO far away :(

So, since I technically don't have gallbladder issues, I'm going to chance it with Pizza for lunch hahahaha :) It was delicious and so far, so good!

This, That and the Other...

Okay, this post is LONG overdue and I really have no excuse other than busy! I had an U/S on 7/21 and darn it all – they couldn’t find the heartbeat – so I got to have another U/S and the baby is looking SO much more like a baby!!! And the little arms were moving :) ….soooo cute!!!

I’ve been feeling really great – but at the end of July I did get nauseous a few times before my next acupuncture appt. I guess going 4 weeks was too long between visits. I go back in 3 weeks this time, just to get me over the hump! I know how lucky I am to be feeling good! Here is my current bump! I'm rounding out on top for sure.

My BIG News??? I’M IN MY SECOND TRIMESTER – WHOOO HOOO!!

On July 27th we went to Como Park/Como Town with my Nephews, Sister, Aunt and Mom. The boys had so much fun, as did we :). They are getti:)g SO big, I still can’t believe they are going to be 5 and 7 soon!

Kari and I

I went yard saling (is that a word?) with my friend Lori this weekend – after 6 or so yard sales and after convincing her and her hubby that our babies (she is 3 wks ahead of me) needed Hardee’s for breakfast, we went separate ways and I stopped at one more yard sale. I hit the JACKPOT! I got 33 things for $13.00 and everything was the right season. I was soooo psyched!!! The couple I bought the clothes from didn’t find out what they were having and so had tons of gender neutral clothes, which is exactly what I wanted :) - DH and I agreed that we are not finding out the sex of the baby - extra incentive on pushing day :). Some of my awesome finds:

This is my favorite - it was just what I was looking for to keep baby all toasty!

When I got home from yard saling, Mike and I painted the baby’s room – light yellow (Lemon Spritz) on top and darker yellow (Bumblebee) on the bottom – it’s perfect :)!! I ordered the chair rail this morning and the baseboard. I have to paint both of those when they come in – but I can’t wait to get the room all together!

Right now my entire office (the soon to be baby’s room) is in our dining room. Normally, who cares, however! our A/C went out today ARRRGGHH – it’s 90 out. So, Mr. Fix-it man gets to see all the glory of our remodel! Oh well. I’m not looking fwd to tomorrow – there was a burnt smell coming from the A/C – so something has burned out and the unit is 18 years old…I’m smelling $$$ along with that burnt smell :(

And I have to take Dash to the vet in the morning. THAT, is always fun!

My next Dr. appt is August 18th :) hope it goes perfectly! It’s hard to keep positive that everything is okay, when you don’t really have many symptoms! (again, not complaining, just saying!)

Thanks for reading - I'll try to update more often!!!
